M039 How to Change the BlueBird Roof Elements (7 min 19 sec)

This video will show you, step-by-step, how to replace the ceramic fiber-embedded roof elements of a Paragon BlueBird kiln. For this project you will need masking tape, a felt-tipped pen, a 1/4" nut driver, Vice-grips, diagonal cutters, gloves, and a P100 respirator. Note: Replace the element wires if the insulation is brittle. Use the brass screw to attach the wires to the connectors. Use the stainless screw for the elements. Tighten the stainless element screws to 30 inch pounds, which is 1 - 1/4 turns past the point of firm resistance.
