Of all the kilns I have ever had, I really like those Paragons.

John Rodgers says, "As much as anything, I like the support Paragon gives both to me personally as an owner and to the clay community in general."

"As for the Paragon kilns, I think they are excellent. They are well constructed, and they have a wonderful spring-loaded lid system that makes it very easy for women - even small women to lift - virtually with three fingers, even with the three-inch thick lids of the cone 10 models. The lid support system allows the lid to float about 1/8 inch or so all the way around so the lid can seek its own seating, thus acquiring a more perfect seal during the growth distortion of the kiln that occurs in all kilns when firing.

"I would encourage that you get the computerized kiln that has the firing cost/electrical consumption calculations programmed into the software. This is a real blessing because you can read your firing cost per load right off the face of the digital read-out window. It is money well spent to get this.

"Also, Paragon has redesigned the installation of the top row of bricks so they are reinforced, and much less likely to break or chip if someone carelessly leans on them, unlike many other kilns.

"As you can tell, I'm partial to the Paragons, because my long experience with them in heavy duty firing operations has clearly shown their quality. I don't have any interest in Paragon, but I do like my kilns. I think they are first quality, both in design and performance."
