Paragon KS-6BLT Dramatic Glaze EffectsSchools and potters have long recognized the Paragon KS-6BLT top-loading square kiln as a great choice in studio electric kilns. Their even temperature, cone 10 capability, and s-l-o-w cooling produce dramatic effects in stoneware and pottery. Ceramists who fire these kilns enjoy the thrill of glaze depth and texture. During slow cooling, the color transformation of the glaze is given sufficient time for full development. Crystalline glazes look stunning. The result is vastly improved colors that some potters will swear were fired in a gas kiln. 4 1/2” of Insulation for Slow CoolingTwo inches of high temperature block insulation line all four sides, the lid, and bottom behind the firebricks. Combined with the 2 ½" thick firebricks, total insulation thickness is 4 ½". Heavy Duty ConstructionThe lid fits inside a recess around the top of the kiln. For extra strength, the KS-6BLT sidewall firebricks are cemented together in rows. Steel supports reinforce the steel base of the KS-6BLT. Steel covers and protects the top of the lid. Infinite Control Switches and Auto-Cone Shut-OffThe KS-6BLT comes with five infinite control switches. The Orton Auto-Cone shuts off the kiln when the proper small cone bends. In the digital age, we haven’t forgotten those who still prefer full manual control of the kiln firing. Exciting OptionsThe kiln comes with welded mounting plates for optional casters so you can move your kiln out of the way when it is not in use. For durability, order the stainless steel model. The price below is for stainless steel as shown in the photo above.
