Charlie DiMaggio, Paragon’s new customer service manager, radiates energy and laughs easily. She enjoys learning about kilns. “You can feel the atmosphere of a place when you first walk in,” she said, “and the atmosphere at Paragon is comfortable. Everyone is comfortable to be around. Everyone is kind and willing to help teach me. I feel at home here.”
Charlie loves to learn. She enjoyed school. “I want to learn a lot about kilns,” she said. “The more hands-on the training, the faster I will learn. So I want to help make kilns in the factory.”
“It seems that the employees have been here forever,” Charlie added. “That’s a good sign. You’re not just an employee here--you’re a ‘lifer.’ They have future plans for me. I love that! Paragon is a nurturing place.”
Charlie loves baseball. Her high school batting average was .429. Her baseball prowess must be genetic, because her uncle was the cultural icon Joe DiMaggio. Charlie treasures her baseball cards, family photos, and stories of Uncle Joe. Charlie is from Vermont but has spent most of her life in Texas.
The Paragon customer service team welcomes Charlie. Laura, our senior customer service representative, has been with Paragon for 15 years. Susan, another customer service rep, has been with us for eight years. They answer questions about kilns by phone and email. They even trouble shoot kiln problems through Apple Facetime or Skype video. This enables them to look a customer’s kiln as if they were next to the customer.
Amy, our receptionist, not only answers the phone and greets visitors but also assembles the instruction packets that are shipped with kilns. Our third customer service rep, Rodrigo, used to work in the factory. His father is one of our most dedicated factory employees. Rodrigo is leaving for a job in construction. We are sorry to see him go and wish him much success in his family and career. We will miss him.
