Paragon kilns and furnaces are made in America to exacting standards. We are constantly looking for better ways to make kilns so that we can offer you the most reliable, economically priced kilns in the world. That is our goal. We offer a huge line of kilns for ceramics, pottery, glass fusing, silver jewelry, enameling, heat treating, annealing, dental laboratories, and many other applications. In 2011 we had 5,852 SKU’s of different kiln and furnace models. If we do not already have the kiln you need, our engineers will help you design one to your exact specifications. What makes a Paragon kiln unique? First, innovative ideas. For instance, our patented LiteLid spring counter-balance, which is installed on the larger top-loading kilns, not only makes the lid easy to lift. It also reduces the pressure on the firebrick kiln walls for longer life. Our large top-loading kilns include a full-formed, galvanized steel base, which strengthens the kiln. The steel base extends inside the kiln case on all sides. The base prevents the kiln stand from digging into the firebrick bottom should you move the kiln to center it on the stand. Most Paragon top-loading studio kilns have a row of 2” high firebricks around the top of the walls. Since these bricks do not hold an element, they slide out easily for replacement. They also resist breakage, because they have no element groove. By the way, this top row of bricks makes the kilns deeper than competitive equivalent kilns, usually at no extra charge. So not only do you gain the advantage of 2” bricks in the top of the kiln, but you also get extra interior space. Most kilns can be upgraded with extra features. So, you can choose to buy only the features you need. The Dragon and Viking series come standard with mercury displacement relays. But you can also order most other kilns with mercury relays. These relays are worth the extra cost, because they last longer than mechanical relays. We are very proud of our work force. Fifty-one percent of our factory employees have been at Paragon over 10 years. Twenty percent have worked here over 20 years. Kilns and furnaces must be hand-crafted—they are not assembled by machine. Therefore, years of experience mean a more reliable product.
