Paragon Fusion-7 Glass Fusing Kiln
Product quality and customer service
Bernadette Boutier of Grapevine, Texas wrote, “I proudly show off my Fusion-7 to my stained glass buddies. I am not the usual hot glass artist, but rather an odd duck that enjoys refurbishing antique stained glass windows. Much of the glass used in those old windows can never be made again due to the nature of the silicas, colors, and manner in which they were manufactured 100 years ago. I am left to either use new glass made by the various glass companies where the color is not quite right, or I work (play) on fusing several types of new glass that looks like (or comes close) to the broken glass that I am trying to replace. I've enjoyed the experimentation, and I get some awesome colors and textures.
“I decided that I wanted a Paragon for several reasons: I had heard that the quality was tops, and I found that to be true,” Bernadette continued. “Second, the service by Paragon and the folks who work there is second to none. I could go on and on about why I like my Fusion-7, but in a nutshell, I love it because it is the largest kiln that will run off a 120 volt line, and it is so very versatile, with more room than you would think when working with relatively large pieces of glass. It is a great product, and you guys just keep on keeping on with what you're doing.”
Judith Conway of glass e-book fame wrote, “The Paragon Fusion-7 is an excellent kiln. Operating on regular household current, it is an easy addition to your home/studio. And Paragon offers better-than-excellent customer service. We have sold many, many Fusion-7's, and all our customers/students/friends recommend them to others as both a great starter kiln and a kiln to keep on hand for both test firings and smaller firings and smaller load firings in the years to come.”
The excitement of fusing glass
Paragon’s Fusion-series digital hot glass kilns are packed with exciting features. They come in 6, 7, 8 and 10-sided versions. Imagine the glass you could fuse and slump with the Fusion-7. Make bowls, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, and even bracelets. Enjoy glittering dichroic glass. Make treasured gifts for your friends and family. When you own a Paragon kiln, you can experiment with new glass ideas to your heart’s content.
Pinless element grooves
The Fusion-7 heats from the top. For reliability, the elements are mounted in pinless element grooves. Since the element coils are wider than the groove opening, the elements do not need pins.
18” tall stand, galvanized base plate
An 18” tall stand comes standard with the Fusion-7. The stand raises the kiln to a comfortable height for loading and operation. A heavy galvanized steel base completely covers the reversible firebrick bottom. The base folds up under the stainless case on all sides to strengthen the firing chamber. This is one more assurance that your Paragon kiln is built to last.
Insulating firebricks
The Fusion-7 is made with insulating firebricks, which store heat for slow cooling. Thus, smaller, thinner projects may not need additional heat during the annealing range. The lid is 3” thick and the walls and bottom are 2 1/2” thick.
Features of the Fusion-7
- Heating elements in the lid
- Pinless element grooves
- 2 ½” insulating refractory firebrick in walls and bottom; 3” firebrick lid
- Sloped switch box for easy operation of the digital controller
- ¼” heavy duty sheathed Type-K thermocouple
- Lock-in lid support
- Full-formed galvanized steel base
- Louvered switch box, heavy duty wiring
- Tapered peephole with plug for a wide view
The Fusion-7 ships by UPS/FedEx. Enjoy lower shipping cost and faster service. Specially designed cartons and foam padding assure that the kiln will arrive safely.
Detailed instruction manuals
Included with your kiln is a printed controller instruction manual, a printed glass manual, and blank firing record sheets. The manuals have been painstakingly researched and are written in plain English, printed in two colors, and are fully illustrated.
Paragon customer support
When you buy a Paragon kiln, you become a family member of the Texas factory. Should you ever need help, we are here long after the sale.
We are open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Thursday. Our expanded hours allow us to serve customers in differing time zones. Not only can you phone us directly; we also have a wide network of repair technicians throughout the U.S.
| Thermocouple with “special limit” wire
The thermocouple senses temperature inside the kiln. It is the small rod that extends into the firing chamber. The ¼” wide Type-K, 14-gauge, exposed-tip thermocouple is made with special-limit wire for superior accuracy. The exposed tip gives the controller a fast response time for even temperatures during holds. The thermocouple is made in America to our exacting standards.

| Kiln Comes with Heavy Duty Rolling Stand, 18” Square x 18” High
A deluxe kiln stand with locking casters is included with the kiln. Enjoy the convenience of rolling the kiln out of the way when it is not in use. The stand is rock solid. It fits together with interlocking components that assemble with one size of bolt. (Ships unassembled.)
The 18” tall stand raises the kiln to a convenient height for loading and unloading. Should you need a vent, merely slide the collection cup of an Orton vent into a mounting bracket on the top of the stand.

Have something good to say about the Fusion7? Tell Us |
" “I'm extremely happy with the Paragon-7 kiln. It's a highly precise piece of equipment and I have had no disappointing results using it. You manual is quite helpful and tells me what I need to know. When I phoned your customer service with some minor questions, I received immediate and cordial help both times I called.
“The on-line video which shows how to program the kiln is great. I had never run a kiln in my life. I watched the video several times before my first firing until it made sense to me.
“After firing I find that the glass colors and dichro are more vivid than with the previous kiln I was using (at my class, not at home). I faithfully keep a log of the firings but so far I really don't need to do this. It has been very consistent from firing to firing and I'm now getting to know my kiln and what to expect of it.
“Thank you for making such a reliable product and for your sincere interest in how your customers feel about your products.”
